Wedding Cake- Check, Register- Check

On Saturday David and I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and began registering! It was so much fun to take the scanning gun and scan what we wanted. David was in charge of the gun and I was in charge of the check list (go figure me and a check list!). We registered for our bedding and bathroom sets. Our bedding set is navy and white and we both agreed on it fairly quickly. Then we did some of the kitchen gadgets and stuff. David found this pot holder in the shape of a shark so that is on our registry! He kept putting his hand in it and bitting my arm (yes he is 24) so I figure that will be the only use of it- to annoy me. I have always wanted a spice rack, so we registered for one of those. There are things that we didn't register for there so we will need to register at Sears or Target too. Since we have registered on Saturday I have already changed our list twice. I felt really grown up registering for things for my new home.

Last Tuesday (not this Tuesday because I was sick throwing up, trust me you don't want to hear that story) my mom and I went to Tinkers to talk about the wedding cake. We got to try 8 different types of cake! The one that we both liked the best is a white chocolate with raspberry filling. I am not a fan of cake  or white chocolate but this was absolutely delicious! Our second choice chocolate with the raspberry filling. So we will have both on the cake. We are going to do a small 3 tired cake and a sheet cake. The cake will be white with little pearls (dots) all around it. I am thinking about putting a yellow ribbon around the bottom of each layer and then pink roses around the cake. Our colors are watermelon(pink) and yellow. We have a monogrammed "A" for the topper (not for Abby, for Ames). It was really fun tasting all the cakes with my mom.

Next on the list is getting the Bridesmaid dresses and ordering the invitations. I already know which dress I like, I just need to have the girls try them on. I chose the invitations I like but my mom is going to take a sample to the post office to see how much postage would be.

Color of flowers, we are doing roses.

Good ending to a long day

I worked at school until 6 when Gayla (yes Gayla!) told me that it was time to go. I headed to Walmart to pick up wrapping paper and some odds and ends stuff because I figured after my long, exhausting day, wrapping Christmas presents would make me happy. I got home at 7:30, turned on ELF, light my Christmas candle (smells like a Christmas tree), and wrapped presents! It was a wonderfully relaxing and enjoying evening.
