House Arrest

I am not under house arrest but feel like it because I was told by my parents and David that I can't leave my apartment because the roads are to bad. So this is what I did inside my apartment all day:

1.) Put away my clothes (couldn't finish because I needed more hangers but couldn't go get them)

2.) Finished reading and creating questions for 2 of the chapter books for guided reading. Yep I finished reading 2 childrens books today!

3.) Organized myself for my grad school class and sent out the needed emails for my assignments.

4.) Played Wii bowling- came in 1st and then 2nd

5.) Realized that the bridesmaids dresses I wanted are out of stock so we will have to look for another one. I was bummed at first but it is out of my control so I can't get to upset. One Saturday I will go with the girls and we will go look for another one. Hopefully we will find one that we like. The color will stay the same though.

6.) Called the deejay back.

7.) ummm... I felt more productive then that but that's all I got!

Todays Activities

I woke up and looked outside (it is my habit ever since I came to school one day ready to work and we had a snow day!) and saw a little bit of snow so I checked the tv. As soon as I turned it on I saw "Fayette Co. no school" I looked outside again and didn't think it was bad so I checked the website and sure enough... no school. I tried to go back to bed and was able to sleep off and on until 7:30. I got up and checked the weather and wondered again why we didn't have school today.

1.) Went to school to pick up some books so I can do some work in case the "big whammy" hits tonight. I wanted to be prepared in case we don't have school Tuesday or Wednesday.

2.) Went to gym and biked 6.5 miles and NONE of it counted as steps (sorry team).

3.) Went to doctor, since I had the time, to have them check out my stomach. I have stomach issues and I finally decided that I was tired of my stomach always hurting. I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich and felt so sick afterwards and decided enough was enough. The doctor asked me my symptoms and felt around and then asked me if I worried.... haha me worry! I told her yes, she then asked if I stressed out about things....haha me stress. Then she asked me what was going on in my life... teaching, grad school, and planning a wedding... she then laughed and said no wonder! She said that she thinks I might have an ulcer or have something wrong with my gallbladder. She put me on medicine for 90 days and scheduled me a time to get an ultrasound on my gallbladder. I actually hope that it is either an ulcer or something wrong with my gallbladder so they can fix it because I don't want my stomach to keep hurting all the time.

4.) Took my ring in because a diamond was loose. They are going to fix it and clean it so I won't get it back until Friday but when I do it will be sparkly and perfect again!

5.) Worked on school stuff.

6.) Played Wii Fit. My Wii Fit age is 31- I have some work to do! After playing Wii Fit I realized that I really want one! I think I want to register for one (I mean its a gift that affects my health)!

P.S.- These snow days must STOP!!! I am getting married on June 6th and I don't particulary want to work up until my wedding. If this weather keeps it up then I am going to need help from my friends and teammates at the end of the year (packing up my apartment, painting the new place, moving in the new place, packing up my classroom, trying to relax before my wedding). I am trying to not let it stress me out because it is out of my control. I am working on it!

First Wedding Shower

I had my (our) first wedding shower on Saturday and it was so much fun! The shower was given by my moms side of the family up in Florence, KY. It was a combined shower with my two other cousins who are also getting married this year. The shower turned out really nice. My mom and I were in charge of creating games, talk about pressure, but everyone really seemed to like them. My mom video taped the whole thing-she is starting a video of all wedding activities from now until the wedding. Then we did presents. David and I did well! We received the comforter, bed skirt, shower curtain, hand towels, bath rug, shower hooks, mixing bowl set, chips n-dip wooden bowls with 2 margarita glasses, a set of sheets to go with the comforter, skillet, wall clock, tablespoon measures, a 3 tired cooling rack, and place mats for the table. I have a place set aside in my bedroom for all the goodies! David came over and helped me unload the stuff and then we looked through it all again. I am so excited for the time when I get to start using the stuff! Saturday was a great day!

Amazing what I can do when I know I get to sleep in!

It is absolutely amazing what I am capable of after a long day at work when I know I can sleep in the next day! I am NEVER this productive after school!

1.) Went to David's Bridal with my maid of honor and bridesmaid to look at a bridesmaid dress we liked online. It is not available in the store but we found one similar and liked it so... I now have a dress picked out for the girls! http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=3687&prodgroup=110 I tried to paste the picture but I wasn't able to. The color is watermelon. The best thing is that they are on sale too!

2.) Went to my parents to pick up LOST 2 for my roommate to watch.

3.) Talked to my friend that I have known since middle school. I moved at the end of 7th grade but she was my best friend in 6th and 7th grade and we still talk. I haven't seen her since sophmore year of highschool. When we talk it is like we have never been apart. We were pretty inseperable for 2 years and our families became friends.

4.) Went to Krogers to get milk and cereal, my staple foods.

5.) Made lasgna.

6.) Did 2 loads of laundry.

7.) Cleaned the kitchen- cleaned my bedroom- organized my desk

8.) Finished creating a reading unit test

9.) Wrote on my blog

10,000 Steps

Starting today I will be wearing a pedometer to see how many steps I take a day. Now this week it is just the baseline so I am not supposed to do anything different, like walk more. UK PAWS program is doing this health thing at our school where teachers have their blood taken, told their bmi, weight, total body fat, and other information. They will come every couple of months to take this information from us. Today is the start of the walking club. At the end of the day I have to record the number of steps I took and the amount of time I was active (my pedometer tells me). Now a healthy person walks 10,000 steps a day which is 5 miles! I didn't think that was that many steps until I practiced wearing my pedometer Friday and Saturday.

Friday = 6,569 steps

Saturday = 6, 851 steps

I am 4,000 steps shy of my goal! Now on Friday I used the exercise bike and it didn't record peddling as steps. On Saturday I went to them gym and used the eliptical and it did record it then. On Saturday I didn't put the pedometer on until like 11 because I slept in until 10 so I am curious to see on Monday how many steps I walk when I get up at 5:10 and work all day.

I didn't think about wearing a pedometer on my pants until Friday night and I went out to dinner and the pedometer showed whith the shirt I had on. So instead of sucking it up... I took the pedometer off! I never thought about it interferring with my outfits. Another example: Next Saturday I am having a bridal shower and I am wearing a dress, which means nowhere to put my pedometer on. Another cathch to the UK PAWS program is starting next week you compete with other teams to see which team walks the most. My second grade teammates and I are on a team. The winner gets a prize and we want to win! So there is pressure to get my 10,000 steps and then some because I want to win!
