Chicks

We have been hatching chicks at school and it has been the coolest thing! We have had chicken eggs in an incubator in our classroom for a month and finally the chicks started hatching last week. The kids were able to watch the chicks hatch and then develop in the cute things you see below. We are learning about life science and study life cycles. It was an absolutely fabulous learning experience which the kids LOVED! Our class had 13 chicks hatch!

I love this time of the year

This is a wonderful time of the year for so many reasons. It is lighter longer, it is warmer, can go for long walks, able to grill, can sit outside and read, and March Madness. This weekend contained everything! Thursday night I saw Etta May with my teacher friends, which was so much fun and so hilarious! Friday I didn't have school and David didn't have class so we enjoyed the day together. I sat outside for a little on Friday in capris and a tank top! It made me so excited for summer:) That night I went to dinner and hung out with the girls. We watched Love and Other Drugs, didn't really like it, and chatted. Always love hanging out with my friends! Saturday and Sunday were so nice outside that Callie and I took long walks and sat outside and read. This weekend has contained much basketball watching and checking on bracket place. The games have been so intense and fun to watch! See David and I have this competetion- the winner gets to choose the next 5 movies we watch. This is a must win for me! So much fun in our household this weekend.

I am learning to sew

David's mom is teaching me how to sew. I have sewed a few times before- when I was little my mom and I would sew Barbie clothes, I had some very fashionable Barbies! David's mom made our curtains for us in our living room and kitchen. She saved some material to teach me how to make pillows for our couch. On Sunday I went over to her house and she showed me how to sew a pillow. Teri made one and I made 3, it was very enjoyable. This summer we are going to make a Thangles pattern Tree Skirt. I unfortunately can't put a picture up right now because I have lost the cord to transfer pictures to my camera to my computer. As soon as I find it I will put a picture up of the pillows I made.
